قَرَأَ عَلَيَّ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) فِي الْفَرَائِضِ امْرَأَةٌ تُوُفِّيَتْ وَ تَرَكَتْ زَوْجَهَا قَالَ الْمَالُ كُلُّهُ لِلزَّوْجِ وَ رَجُلٌ تُوُفِّيَ وَ تَرَكَ امْرَأَتَهُ قَالَ لِلْمَرْأَةِ الرُّبُعُ وَ مَا بَقِيَ فَلِلْإِمَامِ .
Translation
From him, from Al Hassan Bin Muhammad, from Ali Bin Al Hassan Bin Rabat, from Muhammad Bin Sukeyn and Ali Bin Abu Hamza, from Mushmail, and from Ibn Rabat, from Mushmail, all of them from Abu Baseer who said, ‘Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> read out to me regarding the Obligations (legislated shares of inheritance), a woman who passed away and left her husband. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The wealth, all of it is for the husband’. And (about a man who died and left his wife (only), he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘For the wife is the one-quarter and whatever remains, so it is for the Imam<sup>asws</sup>’.
