Al-Kafi 13580

Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father and Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Al Fazl Bin Shazaan, fromIbn Abu Umeyr and Safwan Bin Yahya, altogether from Abdul Rahman Bin Al Hajjaj who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah^asws about <span class="iTxt">Al-Hameyl</span>, so he^asws said: ‘And which thing is <span class="iTxt">Al-Hameyl</span>?’ I said, ‘The woman is taken as prisoner from her family, with her is the small child, so she is saying, ‘This is my child’, and the captive man meets his brother, so he is saying, ‘This is my brother’, and there is no evidence for them except for their words’. So he^asws said: ‘So what are the people among you saying with regards to them’. I said, ‘They would not be inheriting each other because there does not happen to be any evidence upon their births, but rather it is the birth of the Polytheism’. So he^asws said: ‘Glory be to Allah^azwj! When she comes with her son or her daughter and does not cease to accept it, and when he recognises his brother, and that was during good health from these two, and they both do not stop accepting that, they would be inheriting from each other’.
