سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ اشْتَرَى عَبْداً لَهُ أَوْلَادٌ مِنِ امْرَأَةٍ حُرَّةٍ فَأَعْتَقَهُ قَالَ وَلَاءُ وُلْدِهِ لِمَنْ أَعْتَقَهُ .
Translation
Safwan, from Al Ays Bin Al Qasim, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, said, ‘I asked him<sup>asws</sup> about a man who bought a slave who had children from a free woman, so he emancipated him. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The guardianship of his children is for the one who emancipated him’.
