الرَّجْمُ حَدُّ اللَّهِ الْأَكْبَرُ وَ الْجَلْدُ حَدُّ اللَّهِ الْأَصْغَرُ فَإِذَا زَنَى الرَّجُلُ الْمُحْصَنُ يُرْجَمُ وَ لَمْ يُجْلَدْ .

محمد بن یحییٰ اور دیگر نے احمد بن محمد بن عیسیٰ سے، انہوں نے حسین بن سعید سے، انہوں نے نضر بن سوید سے، انہوں نے عاصم بن حمید سے، انہوں نے ابو بصیر سے، انہوں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا: رجم اللہ کی بڑی حد ہے اور جلد اللہ کی چھوٹی حد ہے۔ پس جب شادی شدہ مرد زنا کرے تو اسے سنگسار کیا جائے گا اور کوڑے نہیں لگائے جائیں گے۔
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya narrated to me, and someone else, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from Al Husayn Bin Saeed, from Al Nazar Bin Suweyd, from Aasim Bin Humeyd, from Abu Baseer, Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> has said: ‘The stoning is a bigger Penalty (<span class="iTxt">Hadd</span>) of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> and the whipping is the smaller Penalty (<span class="iTxt">Hadd</span>) of Allah<sup>azwj</sup>. So when the married man commits adultery, he would be stoned and not whipped’.
