سَأَلْتُ أَبَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ ( عليه السلام ) عَنِ الزَّانِي كَيْفَ يُجْلَدُ قَالَ أَشَدَّ الْجَلْدِ قُلْتُ فَمِنْ فَوْقِ ثِيَابِهِ قَالَ بَلْ يُخْلَعُ ثِيَابُهُ قُلْتُ فَالْمُفْتَرِي قَالَ يُضْرَبُ بَيْنَ الضَّرْبَيْنِ يُضْرَبُ جَسَدُهُ كُلُّهُ فَوْقَ ثِيَابِهِ .

میں نے ابو ابراہیم علیہ السلام سے زانی کے بارے میں پوچھا کہ اسے کوڑے کیسے مارے جائیں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: سخت ترین طریقے سے۔ میں نے کہا: کیا کپڑوں کے اوپر سے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: نہیں بلکہ کپڑے اتار دیے جائیں۔ میں نے کہا: تو پھر جھوٹی تہمت لگانے والے کا کیا حکم ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: اسے دونوں طرح کی مار کے درمیان مارا جائے — اس کے پورے جسم کو کپڑوں کے اوپر سے مارا جائے۔
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from Muhammad Bin Isa Bin Ubeyd, from Yunus, from Is’gaq Bin Ammar who said, ‘I asked Abu Ibrahim<sup>asws</sup> (7<sup>th</sup> Imam<sup>asws</sup>) about the adulterer, ‘How should he be whipped?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The most intense of the lashing’. I said, ‘So, from the top of his clothes?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘But, his clothes (robe, shirt, vest etc.) are taken off’. I said, ‘So, for the forger (of lies)?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘He would be whipped between the two lashings (intense and softly). His whole body would be whipped, over his clothes’.
