سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ لَوْ أُتِيتُ بِرَجُلٍ قَدْ قَذَفَ عَبْداً مُسْلِماً بِالزِّنَى لَا نَعْلَمُ مِنْهُ إِلَّا خَيْراً لَضَرَبْتُهُ الْحَدَّ حَدَّ الْحُرِّ إِلَّا سَوْطاً .
Translation
Ibn Mahboub, from Abdul Aziz, from Ubeyd Bin Zurara who said, ‘I heard Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> saying: ‘If they come up to me<sup>asws</sup> with a man who slandered a Muslim servant with the adultery, not being known from him except for the goodness, I<sup>asws</sup> would strike him with the Penalty (<span class="iTxt">Hadd</span>), a Penalty (<span class="iTxt">Hadd</span>) of the free (man) except for one lash (less)’.
