سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنِ الِافْتِرَاءِ عَلَى أَهْلِ الذِّمَّةِ وَ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ هَلْ يُجْلَدُ الْمُسْلِمُ الْحَدَّ فِي الِافْتِرَاءِ عَلَيْهِمْ قَالَ لَا وَ لَكِنْ يُعَزَّرُ .
Translation
Humeyd Bin Ziyad, from Al Hassan Bin Muhammad Bin Sama’at, from Ja’far Bin Sama’at, from Aban Bin Usman, from Ismail Bin Al Fazl who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> about the fabrication upon the <span class="iTxt">Ahl Al-Zimma</span> (under the responsibility), and the people of the Book (Jews and Christians), would the Muslim be whipped the Penalty (<span class="iTxt">Hadd</span>) with regards to the fabrication against them?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘No, but he would be reprimanded’.
