إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) وَقَفَ بِمِنًى حِينَ قَضَى مَنَاسِكَهُ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ فَقَالَ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اسْمَعُوا مَا أَقُولُ لَكُمْ فَاعْقِلُوهُ عَنِّي فَإِنِّي لَا أَدْرِي لَعَلِّي لَا أَلْقَاكُمْ فِي هَذَا الْمَوْقِفِ بَعْدَ عَامِنَا هَذَا ثُمَّ قَالَ أَيُّ يَوْمٍ أَعْظَمُ حُرْمَةً قَالُوا هَذَا الْيَوْمُ قَالَ فَأَيُّ شَهْرٍ أَعْظَمُ حُرْمَةً قَالُوا هَذَا الشَّهْرُ قَالَ فَأَيُّ بَلَدٍ أَعْظَمُ حُرْمَةً قَالُوا هَذَا الْبَلَدُ قَالَ فَإِنَّ دِمَاءَكُمْ وَ أَمْوَالَكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ حَرَامٌ كَحُرْمَةِ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا فِي شَهْرِكُمْ هَذَا فِي بَلَدِكُمْ هَذَا إِلَى يَوْمِ تَلْقَوْنَهُ فَيَسْأَلُكُمْ عَنْ أَعْمَالِكُمْ أَلَا هَلْ بَلَّغْتُ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ اشْهَدْ أَلَا وَ مَنْ كَانَتْ عِنْدَهُ أَمَانَةٌ فَلْيُؤَدِّهَا إِلَى مَنِ ائْتَمَنَهُ عَلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَحِلُّ دَمُ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ وَ لَا مَالُهُ إِلَّا بِطِيبَةِ نَفْسِهِ وَ لَا تَظْلِمُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ وَ لَا تَرْجِعُوا بَعْدِي كُفَّاراً .

ہمارے بہت سے اصحاب نے احمد بن محمد بن عیسیٰ سے، انہوں نے حسین بن سعید سے، انہوں نے اپنے بھائی حسن سے، انہوں نے زرعہ بن محمد سے، انہوں نے سماعہ سے، انہوں نے ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا: بے شک رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم حجۃ الوداع میں مناسک ادا کرنے کے بعد منیٰ میں کھڑے ہوئے اور فرمایا: اے لوگو! جو میں کہتا ہوں سنو اور مجھ سے سمجھ لو، کیونکہ مجھے نہیں معلوم شاید میں اس سال کے بعد اس مقام پر تم سے نہ مل سکوں۔ پھر فرمایا: کون سا دن سب سے زیادہ حرمت والا ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا: یہ دن۔ فرمایا: کون سا مہینہ سب سے زیادہ حرمت والا ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا: یہ مہینہ۔ فرمایا: کون سا شہر سب سے زیادہ حرمت والا ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا: یہ شہر۔ فرمایا: تمہارا خون اور تمہارا مال تم پر اسی طرح حرام ہے جیسے تمہارے اس دن کی، اس مہینے میں، اس شہر میں حرمت ہے — اس دن تک کہ تم اس سے ملو اور وہ تمہارے اعمال کے بارے میں پوچھے۔ سنو! کیا میں نے پہنچا دیا؟ انہوں نے کہا: ہاں۔ فرمایا: اے اللہ! گواہ رہ۔ سنو! جس کے پاس کوئی امانت ہو وہ اسے اس تک پہنچا دے جس نے اسے امانت دی ہے، کیونکہ کسی مسلمان کا خون اور مال بغیر اس کی خوشی کے حلال نہیں۔ اپنے آپ پر ظلم مت کرو اور میرے بعد کافر ہو کر مت لوٹنا۔
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from Al Husayn Bin Saeed, from his brother Al Hassan, from Zur’at Bin Muhammad, from Sama’at, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said that Rasool-Allah<sup>azwj</sup> paused at Mina where he fulfilled his<sup>saww</sup>rituals during the farewell Hajj. So he<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘O you people!, Listen to what I<sup>saww</sup> am saying to you all, therefore understand from me<sup>saww</sup>, for I<sup>saww</sup> do not know perhaps I<sup>saww</sup> will not meet you all in this pausing place after this year of ours’. Then he<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘Which day is greatest in sanctity?’ They said, ‘This day’. He<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘So which month is the greatest in sanctity?’ They said, ‘This month’. He<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘Which city is greatest in sanctity?’ They said, ‘This city’. He<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘So your blood and your wealth is sacred upon you all like the sacredness of this days of yours, in this month of yours, in this city of yours, up to the Day you meet Him<sup>azwj</sup>, so He<sup>azwj</sup> would be Questioning you all about your deeds. Indeed! Have I<sup>saww</sup> delivered (the Message)?’ They said, ‘Yes’. He<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘O Allah<sup>azwj</sup>! Be Witness! Indeed, and the one with whom was deposited an entrustment, so let him pay it back to the one who had entrusted it upon him, for neither the blood of a Muslim person nor his wealth is Permissible except by him agreeing it himself, and do not be unjust to yourselves (commit sins), nor return to be disbelievers after me<sup>saww</sup>’.
