عَشَرَةٍ اشْتَرَكُوا فِي قَتْلِ رَجُلٍ قَالَ يُخَيَّرُ أَهْلُ الْمَقْتُولِ فَأَيَّهُمْ شَاءُوا قَتَلُوا وَ يَرْجِعُ أَوْلِيَاؤُهُ عَلَى الْبَاقِينَ بِتِسْعَةِ أَعْشَارِ الدِّيَةِ .

علی بن ابراہیم نے اپنے والد سے، اور محمد بن یحییٰ نے احمد بن محمد سے — دونوں نے ابن ابی عمیر سے، حماد سے، حلبی سے، ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے — کے بارے میں دس افراد جنہوں نے مل کر ایک شخص کو قتل کیا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: 'مقتول کے اہل کو اختیار دیا جائے گا — ان میں سے جسے چاہیں قتل کریں، اور اس کے اولیاء باقی نو افراد سے نو دسویں دیت وصول کریں۔'
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim from his father, and Muhammad Bin Yahya from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, both together from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Hammad, from Al Halby, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> regarding ten (people) who participated in killing a man. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The family of the killed one can choose whichever one they so desire (from the ones who) killed, and his guardians has recourse to the remaining ones for nine-tenths of the wergild’.
