رَجُلَيْنِ اجْتَمَعَا عَلَى قَطْعِ يَدِ رَجُلٍ قَالَ إِنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَقْطَعَهُمَا أَدَّى إِلَيْهِمَا دِيَةَ يَدٍ فَاقْتَسَمَا ثُمَّ يَقْطَعُهُمَا وَ إِنْ أَحَبَّ أَخَذَ مِنْهُمَا دِيَةَ يَدٍ قَالَ وَ إِنْ قَطَعَ يَدَ أَحَدِهِمَا رَدَّ الَّذِي لَمْ يُقْطَعْ يَدُهُ عَلَى الَّذِي قُطِعَتْ يَدُهُ رُبُعَ الدِّيَةِ .

محمد بن یحیی نے احمد بن محمد بن عیسیٰ سے، انہوں نے حسن بن محبوب سے، انہوں نے ہشام بن سالم سے، انہوں نے ابو مریم انصاری سے، انہوں نے ابو جعفر علیہ السلام سے دو آدمیوں کے بارے میں جنہوں نے مل کر ایک آدمی کا ہاتھ کاٹا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: اگر وہ (مظلوم) چاہے کہ ان دونوں کے ہاتھ کاٹے جائیں تو وہ انہیں ایک ہاتھ کی دیت ادا کرے، پھر وہ دونوں اسے آپس میں تقسیم کریں، اس کے بعد ان دونوں کے ہاتھ کاٹے جائیں؛ اور اگر وہ چاہے تو ان دونوں سے ایک ہاتھ کی دیت لے لے۔ آپ نے فرمایا: اور اگر ان دونوں میں سے صرف ایک کا ہاتھ کاٹا جائے تو جس کا ہاتھ نہیں کاٹا گیا وہ اس کو جس کا ہاتھ کاٹا گیا، دیت کا چوتھائی ادا کرے۔
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from Al Hassan Bin Mahboub, from Hisham Bin Salim, from Abu Maryam Al Ansary, (It has been narrated) from Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> regarding two men who both gathered upon cutting a hand of a man. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘If he likes he can cut the hand of both of them and pay to them both a wergild of one hand, so it would be divided between the two of them, then cut a hand of both of them; and if he so likes, he can take a wergild from both of them for one hand’. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘And if he cuts a hand of (just) one of the two, the one who is not cut would have to pay the one who has been cut, a quarter of the wergild’.
