John Shaqi

إِذَا قَتَلَ الْعَبْدُ الْحُرَّ دُفِعَ إِلَى أَوْلِيَاءِ الْمَقْتُولِ فَإِنْ شَاءُوا قَتَلُوهُ وَ إِنْ شَاءُوا حَبَسُوهُ وَ إِنْ شَاءُوا اسْتَرَقُّوهُ وَ يَكُونُ عَبْداً لَهُمْ .


Translation

Yunus, from Aban Bin Taghlub, from the one who reported it, Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> has said: ‘When the slave kills the free, he would be handed over to the guardians of the killed. So if they so desire to, they kill him, and if they so desire to, they imprison him, and if they so desire to, or leave him and he can be a slave to them’.
