سُئِلَ عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ اعْلَمُوا أَنَّما غَنِمْتُمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَأَنَّ لِلَّهِ خُمُسَهُ وَ لِلرَّسُولِ وَ لِذِي الْقُرْبى فَقِيلَ لَهُ فَمَا كَانَ لِلَّهِ فَلِمَنْ هُوَ فَقَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) وَ مَا كَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ فَهُوَ لِلْإِمَامِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ أَ فَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ صِنْفٌ مِنَ الْأَصْنَافِ أَكْثَرَ وَ صِنْفٌ أَقَلَّ مَا يُصْنَعُ بِهِ قَالَ ذَاكَ إِلَى الْإِمَامِ أَ رَأَيْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) كَيْفَ يَصْنَعُ أَ لَيْسَ إِنَّمَا كَانَ يُعْطِي عَلَى مَا يَرَى كَذَلِكَ الْإِمَامُ .

ان سے اللہ عزوجل کے قول کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا۔ اور جان لو کہ جو کچھ تم غنیمت میں سے حاصل کرو، تو بے شک اس کا پانچواں حصہ اللہ کے لیے، رسول کے لیے، اور قرابت داروں کے لیے ہے۔ تو ان سے کہا گیا: “پھر جو اللہ کے لیے تھا، وہ کس کے لیے ہے؟” انہوں نے فرمایا: “اللہ کے رسول صلى الله عليه وآله کے لیے، اور جو اللہ کے رسول کے لیے تھا، وہ امام کے لیے ہے۔” پھر ان سے کہا گیا: “اگر ایک قسم دوسری سے زیادہ ہو اور ایک قسم کم ہو تو اس کے ساتھ کیا کیا جاتا ہے؟” انہوں نے فرمایا: “یہ امام کے اختیار میں ہے۔ کیا تم نے نہیں دیکھا کہ اللہ کے رسول صلى الله عليه وآله کیسے عمل کرتے تھے؟ کیا یہ نہیں تھا کہ وہ صرف اپنے دیکھے ہوئے کے مطابق دیتے تھے؟ اسی طرح امام بھی ہے۔”
Translation
<span style="font-size: small">Ahmad, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Abu Nasr, from Al Reza</span><sup>asws</sup><span style="font-size: small">, said, </span> ‘He<sup>asws</sup> was asked about the Words of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:8#h41"><a href="/books/quran:8#h41">[8:41]</a></a> And know that whatever war booty you gain, a fifth of it is for Allah and for the Rasool and for the near of kin</span>, and it was said to him<sup>asws</sup>, ‘So whatever was for Allah<sup>azwj</sup>, who was it for?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘For Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>, and whatever was for Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>, so it would be for the Imam<sup>asws</sup>’. It was said to him<sup>asws</sup>, ‘What is your<sup>asws</sup> view if there was more of a category from the categories, and less of a category, what would be done with it?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘That is up to the Imam<sup>asws</sup>. Did you not see how Rasool-Allah<sup>azwj</sup> dealt (with it)? Wasn’t it so that he<sup>saww</sup> gave upon what he<sup>saww</sup> saw (as proper)? Like that is the Imam<sup>asws</sup>’.
