إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) كَانَ يَحْبِسُ فِي تُهَمَةِ الدَّمِ سِتَّةَ أَيَّامٍ فَإِنْ جَاءَ أَوْلِيَاءُ الْمَقْتُولِ بِبَيِّنَةٍ وَ إِلَّا خَلَّى سَبِيلَهُ .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Al Nowfaly, from Al Sakuny, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said that the Prophet<sup>saww</sup> used to imprison for six days with regards to the one (who was) accused of the blood (killing). So if the guardians of the killed-one were to come over (to seek blood money), or else he<sup>saww</sup> would release his way’.
