John Shaqi

سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنِ الْقَاذِفِ بَعْدَ مَا يُقَامُ عَلَيْهِ الْحَدُّ مَا تَوْبَتُهُ قَالَ يُكْذِبُ نَفْسَهُ قُلْتُ أَ رَأَيْتَ إِنْ أَكْذَبَ نَفْسَهُ وَ تَابَ أَ تُقْبَلُ شَهَادَتُهُ قَالَ نَعَمْ .


Translation

Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Muhammad Bin Al Fuzayl, from Abu Al Sabbah Al Kinany who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> about the slanderer after the legal penalty (<span class="iTxt">Hadd</span>) having been established upon him, what is his repentance?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘He should belie himself’. I said, ‘What is your<sup>asws</sup> view if he belies himself and repents, would his testimony be accepted?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Yes’.
