سَرَّحَ الرِّضَا ( عليه السلام ) بِصِلَةٍ إِلَى أَبِي فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ أَبِي هَلْ عَلَيَّ فِيمَا سَرَّحْتَ إِلَيَّ خُمُسٌ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ لَا خُمُسَ عَلَيْكَ فِيمَا سَرَّحَ بِهِ صَاحِبُ الْخُمُسِ .

سہل بن زیاد، محمد بن عیسیٰ سے، علی بن الحسین بن عبد ربہ سے، انہوں نے کہا: الرضا علیہ السلام نے میرے والد کو ایک ہدیہ بھیجا، تو میرے والد نے انہیں لکھا: ‘کیا جو آپ نے مجھے بھیجا ہے اس پر مجھ پر خمس واجب ہے؟’ انہوں نے انہیں لکھا: ‘جس چیز کو صاحبِ خمس بھیجتا ہے اس پر تم پر کوئی خمس نہیں۔’
Translation
Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Muhammad Bin Isa, from Ali Bin Al Husayn Bin Abdul Rabbih who said, ‘Al-Reza<sup>asws</sup> sent a monetary gift to my father, so my father wrote to him<sup>asws</sup>, ‘Is there any Khums (payable) regarding what you<sup>asws</sup> sent to me?’ He<sup>asws</sup> wrote to him: ‘There is no Khums upon you regarding what owner of the Khums sends to you’.
