سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَحْلِفُ عَلَى الْيَمِينِ فَيَرَى أَنَّ تَرْكَهَا أَفْضَلُ وَ إِنْ لَمْ يَتْرُكْهَا خَشِيَ أَنْ يَأْثَمَ أَ يَتْرُكُهَا فَقَالَ أَ مَا سَمِعْتَ قَوْلَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) إِذَا رَأَيْتَ خَيْراً مِنْ يَمِينِكَ فَدَعْهَا .

میں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے اس شخص کے بارے میں پوچھا جو قسم کھاتا ہے، پھر دیکھتا ہے کہ اسے چھوڑنا بہتر ہے، اور اگر وہ اسے نہ چھوڑے تو ڈرتا ہے کہ گناہ ہوگا — کیا وہ اسے چھوڑ دے؟ آپ علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: کیا تم نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ کا یہ قول نہیں سنا: 'جب تم اپنی قسم سے بہتر کوئی چیز دیکھو تو اسے چھوڑ دو'؟
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ali Bin Al Noman, from Saeed Al A’raj who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> about the man who swore an oath, so he saw that leaving it is better, and if he were not to leave it, he feared that he might be sinning. Should he leave it?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Have you not heard the words of Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>: ‘When you see better than what you had oathed for, so leave it’?’
