<a id="_Toc492473186">H 14524</a> – And by this chain, from Abaan, from Abdul Rahmaan Bin Abu Abdullah, from Abu Al-Abbas Al-Makky who said: <span class="first-chapter-phrase"><span class="first-in-chapter character-i">‘I</span> heard Abu Ja’far</span>asws saying that: ‘Umar met Aliasws, so he said to himasws, ‘Youasws are the one who is reciting this Verse: <span class="ibTxt">“<a href="/#/books/quran:68#h6"><a href="/books/quran:68#h6">[68:6]</a></a> Which of you is afflicted with madness”</span> and applying it to me and to my companion’. Heasws said to him: ‘Shall I not inform you of a Verse which has Descended about the Clan of Umayya: <span class="ibTxt">“<a href="/#/books/quran:47#h22"><a href="/books/quran:47#h22">[47:22]</a></a> But if you held command, you were sure to make mischief in the land and cut off the ties of kinship”</span>?’ So he said, ‘Youasws are lying. The Clan of Umayya are better at maintaining relations than youasws are, but youasws refuse to do anything except be inimical to the Clan of Taym (Abu Bakr’s tribe), and the Clan of Ady (Umar’s tribe), and the Clan of Umayya (Muawiya’s tribe)’.
