John Shaqi

قُلْتُ لَهُ قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ مالِكَ الْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِي الْمُلْكَ مَنْ تَشاءُ وَ تَنْزِعُ الْمُلْكَ مِمَّنْ تَشاءُ أَ لَيْسَ قَدْ آتَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ بَنِي أُمَيَّةَ الْمُلْكَ قَالَ لَيْسَ حَيْثُ تَذْهَبُ إِلَيْهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ آتَانَا الْمُلْكَ وَ أَخَذَتْهُ بَنُو أُمَيَّةَ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الرَّجُلِ يَكُونُ لَهُ الثَّوْبُ فَيَأْخُذُهُ الْآخَرُ فَلَيْسَ هُوَ لِلَّذِي أَخَذَهُ.


Translation

<a id="_Toc492473518">H 14837</a> – From him, from Ibrahim bin Abu Bakr Bin Abu Sammaak, from Dawood Bin Farqad, from Abdul A’ala the slave of the progeny of Saam, who has said: <span class="first-chapter-phrase"><span class="first-in-chapter character-i">I</span> asked from Abu Abdullah</span><sup>asws</sup> (about): <span class="ibTxt">“<a href="/#/books/quran:3#h26"><a href="/books/quran:3#h26">[3:26]</a></a> Say: O Allah, Master of the Kingdom! You give the kingdom to whomsoever You please to and take away the kingdom from whomsoever You please to”</span><span class="bTxt">. </span>Has not Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic Given the kingdom to the Clan of Umayya?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said; ‘This is not as, where you are going with it. Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Gave us<sup>asws</sup> the kingdom and the Clan of Umayya took it away, like the man who has his clothes and another one takes it away from him, so it still does not belong to the one who took it (unlawfully)’.
