دَخَلْتُ مَعَ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عليه السلام) الْمَسْجِدَ الْحَرَامَ وَ هُوَ مُتَّكِئٌ عَلَيَّ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى النَّاسِ وَ نَحْنُ عَلَى بَابِ بَنِي شَيْبَةَ فَقَالَ يَا فُضَيْلُ هَكَذَا كَانَ يَطُوفُونَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ لَا يَعْرِفُونَ حَقّاً وَ لَا يَدِينُونَ دِيناً يَا فُضَيْلُ انْظُرْ إِلَيْهِمْ مُكِبِّينَ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ لَعَنَهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ خَلْقٍ مَسْخُورٍ بِهِمْ مُكِبِّينَ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ ثُمَّ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ أَ فَمَنْ يَمْشِي مُكِبًّا عَلى وَجْهِهِ أَهْدى أَمَّنْ يَمْشِي سَوِيًّا عَلى صِراطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ يَعْنِي وَ اللَّهِ عَلِيّاً (عليه السلام) وَ الْأَوْصِيَاءَ (عليهم السلام) ثُمَّ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ زُلْفَةً سِيئَتْ وُجُوهُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَ قِيلَ هذَا الَّذِي كُنْتُمْ بِهِ تَدَّعُونَ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (عليه السلام) يَا فُضَيْلُ لَمْ يَتَسَمَّ بِهَذَا الِاسْمِ غَيْرُ عَلِيٍّ (عليه السلام) إِلَّا مُفْتَرٍ كَذَّابٌ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْبَأْسِ هَذَا أَمَا وَ اللَّهِ يَا فُضَيْلُ مَا لِلَّهِ عَزَّ ذِكْرُهُ حَاجٌّ غَيْرَكُمْ وَ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا لَكُمْ وَ لَا يَتَقَبَّلُ إِلَّا مِنْكُمْ وَ إِنَّكُمْ لَأَهْلُ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ إِنْ تَجْتَنِبُوا كَبائِرَما تُنْهَوْنَ عَنْهُ نُكَفِّرْ عَنْكُمْ سَيِّئاتِكُمْ وَ نُدْخِلْكُمْ مُدْخَلًا كَرِيماً يَا فُضَيْلُ أَ مَا تَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ تُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَ تُؤْتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَ تَكُفُّوا أَلْسِنَتَكُمْ وَ تَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ ثُمَّ قَرَأَ أَ لَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ قِيلَ لَهُمْ كُفُّوا أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَ أَقِيمُوا الصَّلاةَ وَ آتُوا الزَّكاةَ أَنْتُمْ وَ اللَّهِ أَهْلُ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ.
Translation
<a id="_Toc492473563">H 14882</a> – From him, from Ali Bin Al-Hassan, from Mansour, from Hareyz Bin Abdullah, from Al-Fazeyl who said: <span class="first-chapter-phrase"><span class="first-in-chapter character-i">I</span> entered the Sacred</span> Masjid with Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup>, he<sup>asws</sup> was leaning (on a stick) and after looking around at the people whilst we were at the Door of the Clan of Shaeba, he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘O Fazeyl, this is how they used to circumambulate during the era of ignorance, not understanding the truth, nor having a Religion but (they knew it only) by our<sup>asws</sup> Religion. O Fazeyl! Look at them falling down upon their faces (prostration, offering Salat). May Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Curse these ridiculed creatures falling down upon their faces’. Then he<sup>asws</sup> recited this Verse: <span class="ibTxt">“<a href="/#/books/quran:67#h22"><a href="/books/quran:67#h22">[67:22]</a></a> What! Is he who goes prone upon his face better guided or he who walks upright upon a straight path?”</span> By Allah<sup>azwj</sup>, it means Ali<sup>asws</sup>, and the successors<sup>asws</sup>’. Then he<sup>asws</sup> recited this Verse: <span class="ibTxt">“<a href="/#/books/quran:67#h27"><a href="/books/quran:67#h27">[67:27]</a></a> But when they shall see it nigh, the faces of those who disbelieve shall be sorry, and it shall be said; This is that which you used to call for”</span>. O Fazeyl! It is Amir-ul- Momineen<sup>asws</sup>. <span style="text-decoration: underline">No one has been named with this name apart from Ali</span><sup style="text-decoration: underline">asws</sup><span style="text-decoration: underline">, except for the impostor, a liar up to the Day of Judgement</span>. But this, by Allah<sup>azwj</sup> O Fazeyl, there is no Pilgrimage apart from yours, and no Forgiveness of sins except for you (Shites), and no Acceptance except from you (Shites), and it is you all that are mentioned in this Verse: <span class="ibTxt">“<a href="/#/books/quran:4#h31"><a href="/books/quran:4#h31">[4:31]</a></a> If you shun the great sins which you are forbidden, We will do away with your small sins and cause you to enter an honourable place of entering.” </span>O Fazeyl! Are you not pleased that you are establishing the Salat, and giving the Zakaat, and withholding your tongues, and we<sup>asws</sup> would be making you to enter the Paradise?’ Then he<sup>asws</sup> recited: <span class="ibTxt">“<a href="/#/books/quran:4#h77"><a href="/books/quran:4#h77">[4:77]</a></a> Have you not seen those to whom it was said: Withhold your hands, and keep up Salat and pay the poor-rate”</span>. You (Shites) are the ones who are referred to in this Verse’.
