Translation

A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from usman Bin Isa, from Sama’at Bin Mihran who said, ‘I asked himasws about the <span class="iTxt">Emān</span> and the <span class="iTxt">Islām</span>. I said to himasws, ‘Is there a difference between the <span class="iTxt">Islām</span> and the <span class="iTxt">Emān</span>?’ Heasws said: ‘So shall Iasws strike an example for you?’ I said, ‘I want that’. Heasws said: ‘An example of the <span class="iTxt">Emān</span> and the <span class="iTxt">Islām </span>is like the Kabah and the Sanctity from the <span class="iTxt">Harrum</span>. You can happen to be in the <span class="iTxt">Harrum</span> and not happen to be in the Kabah, but you cannot happen to be in the Kabah until you happen to be in the <span class="iTxt">Harrum</span>, and you can happen to be a Muslim and not happen to be a <span class="iTxt">Momin</span>, and you cannot happen to be a <span class="iTxt">Momin</span> until you happen to be a Muslim’. He (the narrator) said, ‘I said, ‘So he could exit from the <span class="iTxt">Emān</span>, somewhat?’ Heasws said: ‘Yes’. I said, ‘So what is that to which he will then convert to?’ Heasws said: ‘To the <span class="iTxt">Islām</span> or to the disbelief’. And heasws said: ‘If a man were to enter the Kabah and his urine escapes from him, he would exit from the Kabah and would not have to exit from the <span class="iTxt">Harrum</span>. So he would wash his clothes and clean himself. Then he would not be prevented from entering the Kabah, but if a man were to enter the Kabah, so he urinates therein stubbornly (intentionally), he would be exited from the Kabah and from the <span class="iTxt">Harrum</span>, and his neck would be struck off’.
