قُلْتُ لِأَبِي جَعْفَرٍ الثَّانِي ( عليه السلام ) جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ إِنَّ مَشَايِخَنَا رَوَوْا عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ وَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) وَ كَانَتِ التَّقِيَّةُ شَدِيدَةً فَكَتَمُوا كُتُبَهُمْ وَ لَمْ تُرْوَ عَنْهُمْ فَلَمَّا مَاتُوا صَارَتِ الْكُتُبُ إِلَيْنَا فَقَالَ حَدِّثُوا بِهَا فَإِنَّهَا حَقٌّ .

ہمارے اصحاب کی ایک جماعت نے احمد بن محمد سے، انہوں نے محمد بن الحسن بن ابی خالد شینولہ سے روایت کی، انہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابو جعفر ثانی (علیہ السلام) سے عرض کی: 'میں آپ پر قربان! بے شک ہمارے مشائخ نے ابو جعفر اور ابو عبد اللہ (علیہ السلام) سے روایات کیں، اور تقیہ بہت سخت تھا، تو انہوں نے اپنی کتابیں چھپا لیں اور ان سے روایت نہیں کی۔ پھر جب وہ وفات پا گئے تو کتابیں ہمارے پاس آ گئیں۔' تو آپ (علیہ السلام) نے فرمایا: 'ان سے روایت کرو، کیونکہ بے شک یہ حق ہیں۔'
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Muhammad Bin Al Hassan Bin Abu Khalid Shaynoula who said, ‘I said to Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> the 2<sup>nd</sup>, ‘May I be sacrificed for you<sup>asws</sup>! Our elders were reporting from Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> and Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, and there was intense dissimulation. So they concealed their books and did not report from them. So when they died, the books came to be with us’. So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Narrate with these, for these are true’.
