Al-Kafi 1564

Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from Muhammad Bin Isa, from Yunus who said, ‘I asked Abu Al-Hassan Al-Reza^asws about the <span class="iTxt">Emān</span> and the <span class="iTxt">Islām</span>. So he^asws said: ‘Abu Ja’far^asws said: ‘But rather it is the <span class="iTxt">Islām</span>, and the <span class="iTxt">Emān</span> is above it by a level, and ‘التَّقْوَى’ the piety is above the <span class="iTxt">Emān</span> by a level, and ‘الْيَقِينَ’ the conviction if above the piety by a level; and there has not been distributed between the people anything scarcer than ‘الْيَقِينَ’ the conviction’. He (the narrator) said, ‘So which thing is ‘الْيَقِينَ’ the conviction?’ He<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said: ‘The reliance upon Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup>, and the submission to Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup>, and the pleasure with whatever Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> has Judged, and the delegation (of the matters) to Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup>’. I said, ‘So what is the interpretation of that?’ He<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said: ‘That is how Abu Ja’far<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said it’.
