سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ الْمَقَايِيسِ طَلَبُوا الْعِلْمَ بِالْمَقَايِيسِ فَلَمْ تَزِدْهُمُ الْمَقَايِيسُ مِنَ الْحَقِّ إِلَّا بُعْداً وَ إِنَّ دِينَ اللَّهِ لَا يُصَابُ بِالْمَقَايِيسِ .

میں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام کو یہ فرماتے سنا: 'قیاس والوں نے قیاس کے ذریعے علم حاصل کرنے کی کوشش کی، لیکن قیاس نے انہیں حق سے دور ہی کیا، اور بے شک اللہ کا دین قیاس سے حاصل نہیں ہوتا۔'
Translation
Al Husayn Bin Muhammad, from Moalla Bin Muhammad, from Al Hassan Bin Ali Al Washha, from Aban Bin Usman, from Abu Shayba Al Khurasany who said, ‘I heard Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> saying: ‘The companions of analogies are seeking the knowledge with the analogies, thus the analogies will not increase them from the truth except for the distance (from it), and that the Religion of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> cannot be attained by the analogies’.
