قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) هَلْ لِلشُّكْرِ حَدٌّ إِذَا فَعَلَهُ الْعَبْدُ كَانَ شَاكِراً قَالَ نَعَمْ قُلْتُ مَا هُوَ قَالَ يَحْمَدُ اللَّهَ عَلَى كُلِّ نِعْمَةٍ عَلَيْهِ فِي أَهْلٍ وَ مَالٍ وَ إِنْ كَانَ فِيمَا أَنْعَمَ عَلَيْهِ فِي مَالِهِ حَقٌّ أَدَّاهُ وَ مِنْهُ قَوْلُهُ جَلَّ وَ عَزَّ سُبْحانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنا هذا وَ ما كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَ مِنْهُ قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى رَبِّ أَنْزِلْنِي مُنْزَلًا مُبارَكاً وَ أَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْمُنْزِلِينَ وَ قَوْلُهُ رَبِّ أَدْخِلْنِي مُدْخَلَ صِدْقٍ وَ أَخْرِجْنِي مُخْرَجَ صِدْقٍ وَ اجْعَلْ لِي مِنْ لَدُنْكَ سُلْطاناً نَصِيراً .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Khalid, from Ismail Bin Mihran, from Sayf Bin Ameyra, from Abu Baseer who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, ‘Is there a limit for the gratefulness, when the servant does it, he would be (considered as) a grateful one?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Yes’. I said, ‘What is it?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘He should Praise Allah<sup>azwj</sup> upon each Bounty upon him regarding the family and wealth, and if it was so that among what had been Favoured upon him regarding his wealth, there was a right (for someone), he should pay it off. And from it are the Words of the Mighty and Majestic <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:43#h13"><a href="/books/quran:43#h13">[43:13]</a></a> Glory be to Him Who Made this subservient to us and we were not able to do it</span>. And from it are the Words of the Exalted <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:23#h29"><a href="/books/quran:23#h29">[23:29]</a></a> O Lord! Cause me to disembark a blessed landing, and You are the best of Landers</span>. And His<sup style="font-weight: normal">azwj</sup> Words <span class="iTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:17#h80"><a href="/books/quran:17#h80">[17:80]</a></a> </span><span class="ibTxt">Lord! Make me to enter a goodly entering, and Cause me to go exit a goodly exit, and Grant me from Yourself an Authority, a persistent helper</span>’.
