كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) إِذَا وَرَدَ عَلَيْهِ أَمْرٌ يَسُرُّهُ قَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَى هَذِهِ النِّعْمَةِ وَ إِذَا وَرَدَ عَلَيْهِ أَمْرٌ يَغْتَمُّ بِهِ قَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ .
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Isa, from Al Qasim Bin Yahya, from his grandfather Al Hassan Bin Rashid, from Al Musna Al Hannat, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘It was so that Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>, whenever a matter was referred to him<sup>saww</sup>, which cheered him<sup>saww</sup>, said: ‘The Praise is due to Allah<sup>azwj</sup> upon this Favour’. And whenever a matter was referred to him<sup>azwj</sup> which grieved him<sup>saww</sup>, said: ‘The Praise is for Allah<sup>azwj</sup> upon every state’.
