إِنَّ إِبْلِيسَ قَاسَ نَفْسَهُ بِآدَمَ فَقَالَ خَلَقْتَنِي مِنْ نَارٍ وَ خَلَقْتَهُ مِنْ طِينٍ وَ لَوْ قَاسَ الْجَوْهَرَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ آدَمَ بِالنَّارِ كَانَ ذَلِكَ أَكْثَرَ نُوراً وَ ضِيَاءً مِنَ النَّارِ .

محمد بن یحییٰ، احمد بن محمد سے، الحسن بن علی بن یقطین سے، الحسین بن میاح سے، ان کے والد سے، ابو عبد اللہ (علیہ السلام) سے، آپ نے فرمایا: بے شک ابلیس نے اپنے آپ کو آدم (علیہ السلام) پر قیاس کیا، پس اس نے کہا: «تو نے مجھے آگ سے پیدا کیا اور اسے مٹی سے پیدا کیا۔» اور اگر وہ اس جوہر کا — جس سے اللہ نے آدم (علیہ السلام) کو پیدا کیا — آگ سے موازنہ کرتا، تو وہ آگ سے زیادہ نور اور روشنی والا ہوتا۔
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Al Hassan Bin Ali Bin Yaqteen, from Al Husayn Bin Mayyah, from his father, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Iblees<sup>la</sup> analogised himself<sup>la</sup> with Adam<sup>as</sup>, so <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:38#h76"><a href="/books/quran:38#h76">[38:76]</a></a> He said: I am better than him; You have Created me from fire, and Created him from clay</span>. And had he<sup>la</sup> compared the essence which Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Created Adam<sup>as</sup> from, with the fire (he<sup>la</sup> would not have said so, as that was of more light and illumination than the fire’.
