قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ( عليه السلام ) إِذَا حَدَّثْتُكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ فَاسْأَلُونِي مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ فِي بَعْضِ حَدِيثِهِ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) نَهَى عَنِ الْقِيلِ وَ الْقَالِ وَ فَسَادِ الْمَالِ وَ كَثْرَةِ السُّؤَالِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أَيْنَ هَذَا مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يَقُولُ لا خَيْرَ فِي كَثِيرٍ مِنْ نَجْواهُمْ إِلَّا مَنْ أَمَرَ بِصَدَقَةٍ أَوْ مَعْرُوفٍ أَوْ إِصْلاحٍ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَ قَالَ وَ لا تُؤْتُوا السُّفَهاءَ أَمْوالَكُمُ الَّتِي جَعَلَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ قِياماً وَ قَالَ لا تَسْئَلُوا عَنْ أَشْياءَ إِنْ تُبْدَ لَكُمْ تَسُؤْكُمْ .

علی بن ابراہیم نے، اپنے والد سے، محمد بن عیسیٰ سے، یونس سے، حماد سے، عبد اللہ بن سنان سے، ابو الجارود سے روایت کی، انہوں نے کہا: ابو جعفر علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: 'جب بھی میں تمہیں کوئی حدیث بیان کروں تو مجھ سے پوچھو کہ یہ کتاب اللہ میں کہاں ہے۔' پھر آپ نے اپنی بعض احادیث میں فرمایا: 'رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ نے قیل و قال، مال کے فساد، اور کثرتِ سوال سے منع فرمایا۔' تو آپ سے پوچھا گیا: 'اے رسول اللہ کے فرزند! یہ کتاب اللہ میں کہاں ہے؟' آپ نے فرمایا: 'بے شک اللہ عزوجل فرماتا ہے: [4:114] ان کی اکثر سرگوشیوں میں کوئی خیر نہیں سوائے اس کے جو صدقے، نیکی یا لوگوں کے درمیان صلح کا حکم دے۔ اور فرماتا ہے: [4:5] بے عقلوں کو اپنا مال مت دو جسے اللہ نے تمہارے لیے سہارا بنایا ہے۔ اور فرماتا ہے: [5:101] ایسی چیزوں کے بارے میں مت پوچھو کہ اگر وہ تم پر ظاہر کی جائیں تو تمہیں تکلیف دیں۔'
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Muhammad Bin Isa, from Yunus, from Hammad, from Abdullah Bin Sinan, from Abu Al Jaroud who said, ‘Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Whenever I<sup>asws</sup> narrated with anything to you all, so you should be asking me<sup>asws</sup> (where it is) from the Book of Allah<sup>azwj</sup>’. Then he<sup>asws</sup> said in one of his<sup>asws</sup> Hadeeth: ‘Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> forbade from the, ‘It was said’, and ‘he said’, and the spoiling of the wealth, and the frequent questioning’. So it was said to him<sup>asws</sup>, ‘O son<sup>asws</sup> of Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>! Where is this from the Book of Allah<sup>azwj</sup>?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic is Saying <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:4#h114"><a href="/books/quran:4#h114">[4:114]</a></a> There is no good in most of their secret counsels except (in his) who enjoins charity or goodness or reconciliation between people</span>. And Said <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:4#h5"><a href="/books/quran:4#h5">[4:5]</a></a> And do not give away your property to the foolish which Allah has made for you a (means of) support</span>. And Said <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:5#h101"><a href="/books/quran:5#h101">[5:101]</a></a> O you who believe! Do not put questions about things which if declared to you may trouble you</span>’.
