سُئِلَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الثَّانِي ( عليه السلام ) يَجُوزُ أَنْ يُقَالَ لِلَّهِ إِنَّهُ شَيْءٌ قَالَ نَعَمْ يُخْرِجُهُ مِنَ الْحَدَّيْنِ حَدِّ التَّعْطِيلِ وَ حَدِّ التَّشْبِيهِ .

محمد بن ابی عبد اللہ نے محمد بن اسماعیل سے، انہوں نے حسین بن حسن سے، انہوں نے بکر بن صالح سے، انہوں نے حسین بن سعید سے روایت کی کہ: ابو جعفر ثانی علیہ السلام سے پوچھا گیا: کیا اللہ کے بارے میں یہ کہنا جائز ہے کہ وہ ایک شے ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ہاں۔ یہ اسے دو حدوں سے نکالتا ہے — تعطیل کی حد اور تشبیہ کی حد سے۔
Translation
Muhammad Bin Abu Abdullah, from Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Al Husayn Bin Al Hassan, from Bakr Bin Salih, from Al Husayn Bin Saeed who said, ‘Abu Ja’far<sup>asws</sup> the 2<sup>nd</sup> was asked, ‘Is it allowed for one to say for Allah<sup>azwj</sup> that He<sup>azwj</sup> is a thing?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Yes. Take Him<sup>azwj</sup> out from the two limitations – the limitation of temporariness and the limit of resemblance’.
