سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ أَرْبَعٌ لَا يَخْلُو مِنْهُنَّ الْمُؤْمِنُ أَوْ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُنَّ مُؤْمِنٌ يَحْسُدُهُ وَ هُوَ أَشَدُّهُنَّ عَلَيْهِ وَ مُنَافِقٌ يَقْفُو أَثَرَهُ أَوْ عَدُوٌّ يُجَاهِدُهُ أَوْ شَيْطَانٌ يُغْوِيهِ .

ہمارے بعض اصحاب نے سہل بن زیاد سے، انہوں نے احمد بن محمد بن ابی نصر سے، انہوں نے داود بن سرحان سے روایت کی، جنہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابو عبد اللہ (عليه السلام) کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا: مومن ان چار چیزوں سے خالی نہیں رہتا، یا ان میں سے ایک: ایک مومن جو اس سے حسد کرے — اور یہی ان سب میں اس پر سب سے زیادہ سخت ہے — اور ایک منافق جو اس کے آثار کا پیچھا کرے، یا ایک دشمن جو اس سے جنگ کرے، یا ایک شیطان جو اسے بہکائے۔
Translation
A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Bin Abu Nasr, from Dawood Bin Sirhan who said, ‘I heard Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> saying: ‘Four (matters), the Believer would not be devoid of, or one of these – a <span class="iTxt">Momin</span> who would envy him, and it is the most difficult of these upon him; and a hypocrite removing his traces, or an enemy fighting against him, or a Satan<sup>la</sup> tempting him’.
