إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يَبْتَلِي الْمُؤْمِنَ بِكُلِّ بَلِيَّةٍ وَ يُمِيتُهُ بِكُلِّ مِيتَةٍ وَ لَا يَبْتَلِيهِ بِذَهَابِ عَقْلِهِ أَ مَا تَرَى أَيُّوبَ كَيْفَ سُلِّطَ إِبْلِيسُ عَلَى مَالِهِ وَ عَلَى وُلْدِهِ وَ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ وَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مِنْهُ وَ لَمْ يُسَلَّطْ عَلَى عَقْلِهِ تُرِكَ لَهُ لِيُوَحِّدَ اللَّهَ بِهِ .

محمد بن یحیی، احمد بن محمد سے، محمد بن سنان سے، عثمان النواء سے، اس شخص سے جس کا انہوں نے ذکر کیا، ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت ہے، جنہوں نے فرمایا: بے شک اللہ، عزت و جلال والا، مومن کو ہر مصیبت میں مبتلا کرتا ہے، اور اسے ہر طرح کی موت سے وفات دیتا ہے، لیکن اسے اس کی عقل کے زائل ہونے سے مبتلا نہیں کرتا۔ کیا تم نے ایوب کو نہیں دیکھا کہ کیسے ابلیس کو اس کے مال پر، اس کی اولاد پر، اس کے اہل پر، اور اس کی ہر چیز پر مسلط کیا گیا، لیکن اسے اس کی عقل پر مسلط نہیں کیا گیا۔ یہ اس کے لیے چھوڑ دیا گیا تاکہ وہ اس کے ذریعے اللہ کی توحید کا اقرار کرے۔
Translation
Muhammad Bin Yahya, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Muhammad Bin Sinan, from Usman Al Nawwa’a, from the one who mentioned it, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic Afflicts the <span class="iTxt">Momin</span> with every affliction, and Causes him to died with every (kind of) death, but He<sup>azwj</sup> does not Afflict him with the departure of his intellect. But, do you not see Ayoub<sup>as</sup> how Iblees<sup>la</sup> overcame upon his<sup>as</sup> wealth, and upon his<sup>as</sup> children, and upon his<sup>as</sup> wife, and upon everything from him<sup>saww</sup> but could not overcome upon his<sup>as</sup> intellect. It was left for him<sup>as</sup> in order for him to (understand) the Oneness of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> with it’.
