قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) يَوْماً لِأَصْحَابِهِ مَلْعُونٌ كُلُّ مَالٍ لَا يُزَكَّى مَلْعُونٌ كُلُّ جَسَدٍ لَا يُزَكَّى وَ لَوْ فِي كُلِّ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْماً مَرَّةً فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَمَّا زَكَاةُ الْمَالِ فَقَدْ عَرَفْنَاهَا فَمَا زَكَاةُ الْأَجْسَادِ فَقَالَ لَهُمْ أَنْ تُصَابَ بِآفَةٍ قَالَ فَتَغَيَّرَتْ وُجُوهُ الَّذِينَ سَمِعُوا ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ فَلَمَّا رَآهُمْ قَدْ تَغَيَّرَتْ أَلْوَانُهُمْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَ تَدْرُونَ مَا عَنَيْتُ بِقَوْلِي قَالُوا لَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ بَلَى الرَّجُلُ يُخْدَشُ الْخَدْشَةَ وَ يُنْكَبُ النَّكْبَةَ وَ يَعْثُرُ الْعَثْرَةَ وَ يُمْرَضُ الْمَرْضَةَ وَ يُشَاكُ الشَّوْكَةَ وَ مَا أَشْبَهَ هَذَا حَتَّى ذَكَرَ فِي حَدِيثِهِ اخْتِلَاجَ الْعَيْنِ .

علی بن ابراہیم، ہارون بن مسلم سے، مسعدہ بن صدقہ سے، ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کرتے ہیں، جنہوں نے فرمایا: ایک دن رسول اللہ صلى الله عليه وآله نے اپنے اصحاب سے فرمایا: “ہر وہ مال ملعون ہے جو پاک نہ کیا جائے، اور ہر وہ جسم ملعون ہے جو پاک نہ کیا جائے، اگرچہ ہر چالیس دن میں ایک بار ہی کیوں نہ ہو۔” تو عرض کیا گیا: “اے رسول اللہ، جہاں تک مال کی زکات کا تعلق ہے، ہم اسے جان چکے ہیں؛ پھر جسموں کی زکات کیا ہے؟” آپ صلى الله عليه وآله نے فرمایا: “یہ کہ وہ کسی آفت میں مبتلا ہوں۔” آپ عليه السلام نے فرمایا: پھر ان لوگوں کے چہرے بدل گئے جنہوں نے یہ بات ان سے سنی۔ پس جب آپ صلى الله عليه وآله نے دیکھا کہ ان کے رنگ بدل گئے ہیں تو آپ نے ان سے فرمایا: “کیا تم جانتے ہو کہ میں نے اپنی بات سے کیا مراد لی تھی؟” انہوں نے کہا: “نہیں، اے رسول اللہ۔” انہوں نے فرمایا: “بلکہ یہ ہے کہ آدمی کو ایک خراش لگے، کوئی مصیبت پہنچے، وہ ٹھوکر کھائے، کسی بیماری میں مبتلا ہو، کانٹے سے چُبھ جائے، اور اس جیسی ہر چیز،” یہاں تک کہ آپ نے اپنی حدیث میں آنکھ کے پھڑکنے کا بھی ذکر فرمایا۔
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from Haroun Bin Muslim, from Mas’ada Bin Sadaqa, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘One day Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> said to his<sup>saww</sup> companions: ‘Accursed is every wealth not purified! Accursed is everybody not purified, and even though it be once every forty days’. So it was said to him<sup>saww</sup>, ‘O Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup>! As for the <span class="iTxt">Zakāt</span> (purification) of the wealth, so we have recognised it, so what is the purification (<span class="iTxt">Zakāt</span>) of the bodies?’ So he<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘Being hit by the afflictions’. He<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said: ‘So the faces of those who heard that from him<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup>, changed. So when he<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup> saw their colours to have changed, said to them: ‘Do you all know what I<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup> meant by my<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup> words?’ They said, ‘No, O Rasool-Allah<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup>!’ He<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup> said: ‘Afflictions of the man. He gets scratched by the scratch, and he has misfortune of a calamity, and he stumbles by tripping, and he gets sick by an illness, and he complains of the complaints (aches and pains), and whatever resembles this’, to the extent that he<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup> mentioned in his<sup style="font-weight: normal">saww</sup> Hadeeth, soreness of the eyes’.
