علی بن ابراہیم، ان کے والد سے، ابن ابی عمیر سے، اس شخص سے جس نے اسے روایت کیا، الحلبی سے، ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے، جنہوں نے فرمایا: بے شک مومن اللہ کے نزدیک اتنا معزز ہے کہ اگر وہ اس سے جنت اور جو کچھ اس میں ہے مانگے تو اللہ اسے وہ عطا فرما دے، بغیر اس کے کہ اس کی بادشاہی میں سے کچھ بھی کم ہو۔ اور بے شک کافر اللہ کے نزدیک اتنا حقیر ہے کہ اگر وہ اس سے دنیا اور جو کچھ اس میں ہے مانگے تو اللہ اسے وہ عطا فرما دے، بغیر اس کے کہ اس کی بادشاہی میں سے کچھ بھی کم ہو۔ اور بے شک اللہ اپنے مومن بندے کی آزمائش کے ذریعے اس طرح خبرگیری کرتا ہے جیسے کوئی غائب شخص اپنے اہلِ خانہ کی تحفوں کے ساتھ خبرگیری کرتا ہے، اور وہ اسے دنیا سے اس طرح محفوظ رکھتا ہے جیسے طبیب مریض کو محفوظ رکھتا ہے۔

Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from the one who reported it, from Al Halby, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah^asws having said: ‘The <span class="iTxt">Momin</span> is prestigious to Allah^azwj to the extent that if he was to ask Him^azwj for the Paradise and whatever is in it, He^azwj would Give him that from without there being a reduction from His^azwj Kingdom by anything; and that disbeliever is so abased to Allah^azwj to the extent that if he were to ask Him^azwj for the world with whatever is in it, He^azwj would Give him that from without there being a reduction from His^azwj Kingdom by anything; and Allah^azwj has Pledged His^azwj <span class="iTxt">Momin</span> servant with the affliction just as the absentee tends to undertake the sending of souvenirs to his family, but He^azwj Shields him from the world just as the physician shields the patient’.
