علی بن ابراہیم، ان کے والد سے، ابن محبوب سے، سماعہ سے، ابو عبداللہ (علیہ السلام) سے، جنہوں نے فرمایا: بے شک، علی (علیہ السلام) کی کتاب میں یہ مذکور ہے کہ لوگوں میں سب سے زیادہ سخت آزمائش میں انبیاء ہوتے ہیں، پھر اوصیاء، پھر ان کے بعد جو سب سے بہتر ہوں، پھر ان کے بعد جو سب سے بہتر ہوں۔ مومن کو اس کے نیک اعمال کے اندازے کے مطابق آزمائش میں ڈالا جاتا ہے۔ پس جس کا دین درست ہو اور عمل اچھا ہو، اس کی آزمائش زیادہ شدید ہو جاتی ہے۔ یہ اس لیے کہ اللہ عزوجل نے دنیا کو نہ تو مومن کے لیے ثواب بنایا اور نہ کافر کے لیے عذاب۔ اور جس کا دین کمزور ہو اور عمل ضعیف ہو، اس کی آزمائش کم ہوتی ہے۔ اور آزمائش اللہ سے ڈرنے والے مومن کی طرف بارش کے زمین کی نچلی سطح کی طرف آنے سے بھی زیادہ تیزی سے پہنچتی ہے۔

Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Mahboub, from Sama’at, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah^asws having said: ‘In the Book of Ali^asws (it is written that): ‘The most severely afflicted of the people are the Prophets^as, then the successors^as, then the next most favourable, and the next most favourable; and rather the <span class="iTxt">Momin</span> is afflicted upon a measurement of his good deeds. So the one whose Religion is correct, and his deeds are good, his afflictions would be more severe, and that is because Allah^azwj Mighty and Majestic did not Make the world to be a Reward for a <span class="iTxt">Momin</span> nor as a Punishment for the disbeliever; and the one whose religion is absurd and his deeds are weak, would be of fewer afflictions; and that the afflictions are quicker to the pious <span class="iTxt">Momin</span> than the rain is to the places of the earth’.
