سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ إِنَّ مِنَ الْكَبَائِرِ عُقُوقَ الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَ الْيَأْسَ مِنْ رَوْحِ اللَّهِ وَ الْأَمْنَ لِمَكْرِ اللَّهِ وَ قَدْ رُوِيَ أَنَّ أَكْبَرَ الْكَبَائِرِ الشِّرْكُ بِاللَّهِ .

یونس، عبداللہ بن سنان سے، جنہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابا عبداللہ (عليه السلام) کو یہ فرماتے ہوئے سنا: بے شک کبیرہ گناہوں میں والدین کی نافرمانی، اللہ کی رحمت سے ناامیدی، اور اللہ کی تدبیر سے خود کو محفوظ سمجھنا شامل ہے۔ اور روایت کیا گیا ہے کہ سب سے بڑا کبیرہ گناہ اللہ کے ساتھ شرک ہے۔
Translation
Yunus, from Abdullah Bin Sinan who said, ‘I heard Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> saying: ‘From the major sins are – disloyalty to the parents, and the despair from the Spirit (Assistance) of Allah<sup>azwj</sup>, and the sercurity from the Plan of Allah<sup>azwj</sup>’. And it has been reported that the biggest of the major sins is the association (Shirk) with Allah<sup>azwj</sup>’.
