قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) ثَلَاثٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ كَانَ مُنَافِقاً وَ إِنْ صَامَ وَ صَلَّى وَ زَعَمَ أَنَّهُ مُسْلِمٌ مَنْ إِذَا ائْتُمِنَ خَانَ وَ إِذَا حَدَّثَ كَذَبَ وَ إِذَا وَعَدَ أَخْلَفَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ قَالَ فِي كِتَابِهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يُحِبُّ الْخائِنِينَ وَ قَالَ أَنَّ لَعْنَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ إِنْ كانَ مِنَ الْكاذِبِينَ وَ فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ اذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتابِ إِسْماعِيلَ إِنَّهُ كانَ صادِقَ الْوَعْدِ وَ كانَ رَسُولًا نَبِيًّا .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad, from one of his companions, from Abdullah Bin Sinan, (It has been narrated) from Abdu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘Three (things), the one who has these in him, would be a hypocrite, and even if he were to Fast, and pray <span class="iTxt">Salāt</span>, and claims that he is a Muslim. The one who, when entrusted, betrays, when he narrates, lies, and when he promises, breaks. Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic is Saying in His<sup>azwj</sup> Book <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:8#h58"><a href="/books/quran:8#h58">[8:58]</a></a> surely Allah does not love the treacherous</span>. And He<sup>azwj</sup> Said <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:24#h7"><a href="/books/quran:24#h7">[24:7]</a></a> then the Curse of Allah be on him if he was one of the liars</span>. And in the Words of the Mighty and Majestic <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:19#h54"><a href="/books/quran:19#h54">[19:54]</a></a> And mention Ismail in the Book; he was truthful in (his) promise, and he was a Rasool, a Prophet</span>’.
