میں نے ابو عبد اللہ (علیہ السلام) سے کہا: 'میں نے ہشام بن الحکم کو آپ سے روایت کرتے سنا کہ اللہ ایک جسم ہے، صمدی اور نوری، اس کی معرفت ضروری ہے، وہ اسے اپنی مخلوق میں سے جس پر چاہے عطا کرتا ہے۔' تو انہوں (علیہ السلام) نے فرمایا: 'پاک ہے وہ ذات جس کے بارے میں کوئی نہیں جانتا کہ وہ کیسا ہے، سوائے اس کے خود۔ اس کی مانند کوئی چیز نہیں اور وہ سننے والا اور دیکھنے والا ہے۔ نہ اس کی حد ہے، نہ اسے محسوس کیا جا سکتا ہے، نہ چھوا جا سکتا ہے، نہ آنکھیں اسے پا سکتی ہیں، نہ حواس، اور نہ کوئی چیز اسے محیط ہو سکتی ہے — نہ جسم، نہ صورت، نہ خطوط، نہ حدود۔'

Translation

Ahmad Bin Idrees, from Muhammad Bin Abdul Jabbar, from Safwan Bin Yahya, from Ali Bin Abu Hamza who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah^asws, ‘I heard Hisham Bin Al-Hakam reporting from you^asws that Allah^azwj is (a physical) body, solid, (Made of) Light. His^azwj recognition is a necessity. He^azwj Endows with it upon the ones whom He^azwj so Desires to from His^azwj creatures’. So He^asws said: ‘Glorious is the One^azwj Whom no one knows how He^azwj is except that nothing is like Him^azwj and He^azwj is the Hearing, the Seeing. He^azwj can neither be limited, nor felt, nor touched, nor do the visions comprehend Him^azwj, nor the senses, nor can He^azwj be encompassed by anything, nor a body, nor an image, nor lines, nor boundaries’.
