John Shaqi

سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنْ قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ إِنَّا هَدَيْناهُ السَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شاكِراً وَ إِمَّا كَفُوراً قَالَ إِمَّا آخِذٌ فَهُوَ شَاكِرٌ وَ إِمَّا تَارِكٌ فَهُوَ كَافِرٌ .


Translation

From him, from Abdullah Bin Bukeyr, from Zurara, from Humran Bin Ayn who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> about the Words of the Mighty and Majestic <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:76#h3"><a href="/books/quran:76#h3">[76:3]</a></a> Surely, We have shown him the way: he may be thankful or unthankful</span>. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Either he adopts (the Wilayah) so he is a thankful one, or he neglects (the Wilayah) so he is a Unbeliever (<span class="iTxt">Kafir</span>)’.
