محمد بن ابی عبد اللہ نے محمد بن اسماعیل سے، انہوں نے علی بن عباس سے، انہوں نے حسن بن عبد الرحمن الحمانی سے روایت کی کہ انہوں نے کہا: میں نے ابو الحسن موسیٰ بن جعفر علیہ السلام سے عرض کیا: ہشام بن حکم نے دعویٰ کیا ہے کہ اللہ جسم ہے جس کی مثل کوئی نہیں — علیم، سمیع، بصیر، قادر، متکلم اور ناطق — اور کلام، قدرت اور علم ایک ہی راستے سے جاری ہیں، ان میں سے کوئی بھی مخلوق نہیں ہے۔ تو آپ نے فرمایا: اللہ اسے ہلاک کرے! کیا وہ یہ نہیں جانتا کہ جسم محدود ہوتا ہے اور کلام بولنے والے سے الگ ہوتا ہے؟ معاذ اللہ! میں اس قول سے بری ہوں۔ نہ جسم ہے، نہ صورت ہے، نہ تحدید ہے، اور اس کے سوا ہر چیز مخلوق ہے۔ چیزیں صرف اس کی ارادے اور مشیت سے وجود میں آتی ہیں، بغیر کسی کلام کے، بغیر کسی تردد کے اور بغیر زبان سے نطق کے۔

Translation

Muhammad Bin Abu Abdullah, from Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Ali Bin Al Abbas, from Al Hassan Bin Abdul Rahman Al Himmany who said, ‘I said to Abu Al-Hassan Musa Bin Ja’far^asws that Hisham Bin Al-Hakam is alleging that Allah^azwj is a body. There is nothing resembling Him^azwj. All-knowing, Hearing, Seeing, Powerful. A Speaker speaking, and the Speech, and the Power, and the Knowledge, (all) flowing as one flow, there being nothing from it being Created’. So he^asws said: ‘May Allah^azwj Kill him! Does he not know that the body is limited, and the speech is other than the speaker? I^asws seek Refuge of Allah^azwj and for Allah^azwj I keep away from this speech. There is neither a body, nor an image, nor a limitation, and everything Besides Him^azwj is a creation. But rather, the things came to be by His^azwj Will, and His^azwj Desire from without a speech, or hesitation in Himself^azwj, or speaking by a tongue’.
