سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُحْسِنُ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ أَ يُؤَاخَذُ بِمَا عَمِلَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَقَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) مَنْ أَحْسَنَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ لَمْ يُؤَاخَذْ بِمَا عَمِلَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَ مَنْ أَسَاءَ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ أُخِذَ بِالْأَوَّلِ وَ الْآخِرِ .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Al Qasim Bin Muhammad Al Jowhary, from Al Minqary, from Fuzayl Bin Ayaz who said, ‘I asked Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> about the man is good during Al-Islam, would he be seized for what he had done during the pre-Islamic period?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The Prophet<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘The one who is good during Al-Islam would not be Seized for what he had done during the pre-Islamic period; but the one who is evil during Al-Islam would be Seized for the former and the latter’.
