قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) أَكُونُ أَدْعُو فَأَشْتَهِي الْبُكَاءَ وَ لَا يَجِيئُنِي وَ رُبَّمَا ذَكَرْتُ بَعْضَ مَنْ مَاتَ مِنْ أَهْلِي فَأَرِقُّ وَ أَبْكِي فَهَلْ يَجُوزُ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ فَتَذَكَّرْهُمْ فَإِذَا رَقَقْتَ فَابْكِ وَ ادْعُ رَبَّكَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad, from Usman Bin Isa, from Is’haq Bin Ammar who said, ‘I said to Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup>, ‘I tend to supplicate and am desirous for the weeping, be it does not come to me, and sometimes I remember someone from my family who had died, so I cannot sleep and I weep. So is that allowed for me?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Yes. When you remember them and cannot sleep and weep, so supplicate to Your<sup>azwj</sup> Lord<sup>azwj</sup> Blessed and High’.
