كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) إِذَا أَوَى إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ بِاسْمِكَ أَحْيَا وَ بِاسْمِكَ أَمُوتُ فَإِذَا قَامَ مِنْ نَوْمِهِ قَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانِي بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنِي وَ إِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ وَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) مَنْ قَرَأَ عِنْدَ مَنَامِهِ آيَةَ الْكُرْسِيِّ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ وَ الْآيَةَ الَّتِي فِي آلِ عِمْرَانَ شَهِدَ اللَّهُ أَنَّهُ لا إِلهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَ الْمَلائِكَةُ وَ آيَةَ السُّخْرَةِ وَ آيَةَ السَّجْدَةِ وُكِّلَ بِهِ شَيْطَانَانِ يَحْفَظَانِهِ مِنْ مَرَدَةِ الشَّيَاطِينِ شَاءُوا أَوْ أَبَوْا وَ مَعَهُمَا مِنَ اللَّهِ ثَلَاثُونَ مَلَكاً يَحْمَدُونَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ يُسَبِّحُونَهُ وَ يُهَلِّلُونَهُ وَ يُكَبِّرُونَهُ وَ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لَهُ إِلَى أَنْ يَنْتَبِهَ ذَلِكَ الْعَبْدُ مِنْ نَوْمِهِ وَ ثَوَابُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ .
Translation
A number of our companions, from Sahl Bin Ziyad and Ahmad Bin Muhammad, altogether from Ja’far Bin Muhammad Al Ashary, from Ibn Al Qaddah, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘It was so that whenever Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> retired to his<sup>saww</sup> bed, said: ‘O Allah<sup>azwj</sup>! By Your<sup>azwj</sup> Name I<sup>saww</sup> live, and by Your<sup>azwj</sup> I<sup>saww</sup> would be dying’. So when he<sup>saww</sup> stood up from his<sup>saww</sup> sleep, said: ‘The Praise is for Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Who will Cause me<sup>saww</sup> to live after having Caused my<sup>saww</sup> death, and to Him<sup>azwj</sup> is the Resurrection’. And he (the narrator) said, ‘Abu Abdullah<sup style="font-weight: normal">asws</sup> said: ‘The one who recites at his sleep time, the Ayat Al-Kursy <a href="/#/books/quran:2#h255"><a href="/books/quran:2#h255">[2:255]</a></a>, three times and the Verses which are in (Surah) Aal-e-Imran <span class="ibTxt"><a href="/#/books/quran:3#h18"><a href="/books/quran:3#h18">[3:18]</a></a> Allah bears witness that there is no god but He, and (so do) the Angels</span>, and the Verse of the Subservience <a href="/#/books/quran:7#h54"><a href="/books/quran:7#h54">[7:54]</a></a>’.
