علی بن ابراہیم نے اپنے والد سے اور علی بن محمد القاسانی نے، دونوں نے القاسم بن محمد سے، انہوں نے سلیمان بن داود سے، انہوں نے سفیان بن عیینہ سے، انہوں نے الزہری سے کہا: میں نے علی بن الحسین علیہ السلام سے عرض کیا: کون سے اعمال سب سے افضل ہیں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: الحالّ المرتحل۔ میں نے کہا: الحالّ المرتحل کیا ہے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: قرآن کو شروع کرنا اور ختم کرنا — جب بھی وہ اس کے اول تک آئے تو اس کے آخر تک سفر کرے۔ اور آپ نے یہ بھی فرمایا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ نے فرمایا: جسے اللہ نے قرآن عطا کیا، پھر وہ یہ دیکھے کہ کسی شخص کو اس سے افضل چیز دی گئی ہے جو اسے دی گئی، تو اس نے ایک بڑی چیز کو چھوٹا اور ایک چھوٹی چیز کو بڑا سمجھا۔

Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father and Ali Bin Muhammad Al Qasany, altogether from Al Qasim Bin Muhammad, from Suleyman Bin Dawood, from Sufyan Bin Uyayna, from Al Zuhry who said, ‘I said to Ali^asws Bin Al-Husayn^asws, ‘Which of the deeds is the most superior?’ He^asws said: ‘The state of travelling’. I said, ‘And what is the state of travelling?’ He^asws said: ‘Opening the Quran and ending it. Every time one comes to the beginning of it, travels to the end of it’. And he^asws said: ‘Rasool-Allah^saww said: ‘The one whom Allah^azwj has Given the Quran, so he views that (another) man has been Given superior than what he has been Given, so he has belittled a great (thing), and magnified a little one’.
