كُلَّمَا غَلَبَ الْمَاءُ رِيحَ الْجِيفَةِ فَتَوَضَّأْ مِنَ الْمَاءِ وَ اشْرَبْ وَ إِذَا تَغَيَّرَ الْمَاءُ وَ تَغَيَّرَ الطَّعْمُ فَلَا تَتَوَضَّأْ وَ لَا تَشْرَبْ .

علی بن ابراہیم نے اپنے والد سے، اور محمد بن اسماعیل نے فضل بن شاذان سے، سب نے مل کر حماد سے، انہوں نے حریز سے، انہوں نے اپنے خبر دہندہ سے، انہوں نے ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام سے کہ آپ نے فرمایا: 'جب بھی پانی لاش کی بو پر غالب آ جائے تو اس پانی سے وضو کرو اور پیو؛ اور جب پانی بدل جائے اور ذائقہ بھی بدل جائے تو نہ وضو کرو اور نہ پیو۔'
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father and Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Al Fazl Bin Shazaan, altogether from Hammad, from Hareyz, from the one who informed him, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said: ‘Every time the smell of the water overwhelms the carcass, so you can perform Ablution <span class="iTxt">(Wudhu)</span> from the water, and drink; and when the water changes (its smell) and the taste changes, so neither perform Ablution <span class="iTxt">(Wudhu)</span> nor drink (from it)’.
