قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) طَلَبُ الْعِلْمِ فَرِيضَةٌ وَ فِي حَدِيثٍ آخَرَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) طَلَبُ الْعِلْمِ فَرِيضَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ أَلَا وَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ بُغَاةَ الْعِلْمِ .

ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ نے فرمایا: 'علم کا طلب کرنا فرض ہے۔' اور ایک دوسری حدیث میں، انہوں نے کہا: ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ نے فرمایا: 'علم کا طلب کرنا ہر مسلمان پر فرض ہے۔ آگاہ رہو! بے شک اللہ علم کے طالبوں سے محبت کرتا ہے۔'
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad Bin Muhammad Al Barqu, from Yaqoub Bin Yazeed, from Abu Abdullah, a man from our companions, raising it, said, ‘Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘Seeking the knowledge is ‘فَرِيضَةٌ’ mandatory’. And in another Hadeeth, he (the narrator) said, ‘Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Rasool-Allah<sup>saww</sup> said: ‘Seeking the knowledge is mandatory upon every Muslim. Indeed! And Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Loves the seeker of the knowledge’’.
