إِنَّ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( صلوات الله عليه ) قَالَ إِنَّ مِنْ أَعْظَمِ الْعُوَّادِ أَجْراً عِنْدَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لَمَنْ إِذَا عَادَ أَخَاهُ خَفَّفَ الْجُلُوسَ إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ الْمَرِيضُ يُحِبُّ ذَلِكَ وَ يُرِيدُهُ وَ يَسْأَلُهُ ذَلِكَ وَ قَالَ ( عليه السلام ) مِنْ تَمَامِ الْعِيَادَةِ أَنْ يَضَعَ الْعَائِدُ إِحْدَى يَدَيْهِ عَلَى الْأُخْرَى أَوْ عَلَى جَبْهَتِهِ .

علی بن ابراہیم نے ہارون بن مسلم سے، انہوں نے مسعدہ بن صدقہ سے، انہوں نے ابو عبداللہ علیہ السلام سے روایت کی کہ آپ نے فرمایا: کہ امیرالمومنین صلوات اللہ علیہ نے فرمایا: اللہ عزوجل کے نزدیک عیادت کرنے والوں میں سب سے زیادہ اجر اس شخص کو ملتا ہے جو اپنے بھائی کی عیادت کے وقت بیٹھنے کے وقت کو ہلکا کرے — إلا یہ کہ مریض خود اسے پسند کرتا ہو، چاہتا ہو اور اس کی درخواست کرتا ہو۔ اور آپ علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: عیادت کو مکمل کرنا یہ ہے کہ عیادت کرنے والا اپنے ایک ہاتھ کو دوسرے ہاتھ پر یا مریض کی پیشانی پر رکھے۔
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from Haroun Bin Muslim, from Mas’ada Bin Sadaqa, (It has been narrated) from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having said that Amir Al-Momineen<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘The visitation with the greatest Recompense in the Presence of Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Mighty and Majestic is for the one who, when he visits his brother, lightens the seating (stays for less) unless the patient happens to love that (the prolonged sitting) and wants it, and he asks him for that’. And he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘From the completion of the visitation is that the visitor places one of his hand upon the other or upon his forehead’.
