قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) يَا ثَابِتُ مَا لَكُمْ وَ لِلنَّاسِ كُفُّوا عَنِ النَّاسِ وَ لَا تَدْعُوا أَحَداً إِلَى أَمْرِكُمْ فَوَ اللَّهِ لَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ أَهْلَ الْأَرَضِينَ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى أَنْ يَهْدُوا عَبْداً يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ ضَلَالَتَهُ مَا اسْتَطَاعُوا عَلَى أَنْ يَهْدُوهُ وَ لَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ أَهْلَ الْأَرَضِينَ اجْتَمَعُوا عَلَى أَنْ يُضِلُّوا عَبْداً يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ هِدَايَتَهُ مَا اسْتَطَاعُوا أَنْ يُضِلُّوهُ كُفُّوا عَنِ النَّاسِ وَ لَا يَقُولُ أَحَدٌ عَمِّي وَ أَخِي وَ ابْنُ عَمِّي وَ جَارِي فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ إِذَا أَرَادَ بِعَبْدٍ خَيْراً طَيَّبَ رُوحَهُ فَلَا يَسْمَعُ مَعْرُوفاً إِلَّا عَرَفَهُ وَ لَا مُنْكَراً إِلَّا أَنْكَرَهُ ثُمَّ يَقْذِفُ اللَّهُ فِي قَلْبِهِ كَلِمَةً يَجْمَعُ بِهَا أَمْرَهُ .

ہمارے بہت سے اصحاب نے احمد بن محمد بن عیسیٰ سے، انہوں نے محمد بن اسماعیل سے، انہوں نے اسماعیل السراج سے، انہوں نے ابن مسکان سے، انہوں نے ثابت بن سعید سے روایت کی کہ: ابو عبد اللہ علیہ السلام نے فرمایا: ''اے ثابت! تمہارا لوگوں سے کیا کام؟ لوگوں سے باز آ جاؤ اور کسی کو اپنے امر (ولایت) کی طرف دعوت نہ دو، کیونکہ اللہ کی قسم، اگر آسمانوں کے باشندے اور زمینوں کے باشندے سب مل کر اس بندے کو ہدایت دینا چاہیں جس کی گمراہی اللہ کا ارادہ ہو، تو وہ اسے ہدایت دینے پر قادر نہیں ہوں گے۔ اور اگر آسمانوں کے باشندے اور زمینوں کے باشندے سب مل کر اس بندے کو گمراہ کرنا چاہیں جس کی ہدایت اللہ کا ارادہ ہو، تو وہ اسے گمراہ کرنے پر قادر نہیں ہوں گے۔ لوگوں سے باز آ جاؤ، اور کوئی یہ نہ کہے کہ میرے چچا، میرے بھائی، میرے چچازاد، اور میرے پڑوسی، کیونکہ جب اللہ کسی بندے کے ساتھ بھلائی کا ارادہ فرمائے تو اس کی روح کو پاک کر دیتا ہے، پس وہ کوئی نیکی نہیں سنتا مگر اسے پہچانتا ہے، اور کوئی برائی نہیں سنتا مگر اسے نکارتا ہے۔ پھر اللہ اس کے دل میں ایک کلمہ ڈال دیتا ہے جس سے اس کا امر جمع ہو جاتا ہے۔
Translation
A number of our companions, from Ahmad in Muhammad Bin Isa, from Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Ismail Al Sarraj, from Ibn Muskan, from Sabit Bin Saeed who said, ‘Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘O Sabit! What have you all to do with the people? Refrain from the people and do not be inviting anyone to your matter (Al-Wilayah), for, by Allah<sup>azwj</sup>, even if the people of the skies and the people of the earths were to gather together upon that they guide a servant whose straying Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Intends, they would not have the capability upon guiding him. And even if the people of the skies and the people of the earths were to gather upon that they should stray a servant whose Guidance Allah<sup>azwj</sup> Intends, they would not have the capability that they stray him. Refrain from the people and no one should be saying, ‘My uncle, and my brother, and son of my uncle, and my neighbour’, for Allah<sup>azwj</sup>, when He<sup>azwj</sup> Intends good with a servant, would Make good his soul, so he would not hear a good thing except that he would recognise it, nor an evil except that he would deny it. Then Allah<sup>azwj</sup> would cast a word into his heart to gather his affairs by it’.
