سُئِلَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) عَنِ الرَّجُلِ تُدْرِكُهُ الْجِنَازَةُ وَ هُوَ عَلَى غَيْرِ وُضُوءٍ فَإِنْ ذَهَبَ يَتَوَضَّأُ فَاتَتْهُ الصَّلَاةُ عَلَيْهَا قَالَ يَتَيَمَّمُ وَ يُصَلِّي .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Hammad Bin Usman, from Al Halby who said, ‘Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> was asked about the man who attends the funeral and he is upon (a state) other than ablution. So if he were to go and perform ablution, the <span class="iTxt">Salaat</span> upon it would be missed. He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘He should perform <span class="iTxt">Tayammum</span> and he should pray <span class="iTxt">Salaat</span>’.
