John Shaqi

قُلْتُ لِأَبِي الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) الْجِنَازَةُ يُخْرَجُ بِهَا وَ لَسْتُ عَلَى وُضُوءٍ فَإِنْ ذَهَبْتُ أَتَوَضَّأُ فَاتَتْنِي الصَّلَاةُ أَ لِيَ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهَا وَ أَنَا عَلَى غَيْرِ وُضُوءٍ قَالَ تَكُونُ عَلَى طُهْرٍ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ .


Translation

Muhammad Bin Ismail, from Al Fazl Bin Shazaan, and Abu Ali Al Ashary, from Muhjammad Bin Abdul Jabbar, altogether from Safwan Bin Yahya, from Abdul Hameed Bin Saeed who said, ‘I said to Abu Al-Hassan<sup>asws</sup>, ‘The deceased was brought out and I was not upon ablution. So if I were to go for ablution the <span class="iTxt">Salaat</span> would be missed by me. Is it for me that I should pray <span class="iTxt">Salaat</span> upon it and I am upon (a state) without ablution?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘Your happening to be upon cleanliness is more beloved to me<sup>asws</sup>’.
