John Shaqi

كَتَبَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ بِلَالٍ إِلَى أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) أَنَّهُ رُبَّمَا مَاتَ الْمَيِّتُ عِنْدَنَا وَ تَكُونُ الْأَرْضُ نَدِيَّةً فَنَفْرُشُ الْقَبْرَ بِالسَّاجِ أَوْ نُطْبِقُ عَلَيْهِ فَهَلْ يَجُوزُ ذَلِكَ فَكَتَبَ ذَلِكَ جَائِزٌ .


Translation

Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ali Bin Muhammad Al Qasany who said, ‘Ali Bin Bilal wrote to Abu Al Hassan<sup>asws</sup>, ‘Sometimes someone dies with us and the ground happens to be damp, so we pave the grave with the wood, or we re-inforce upon it. Is that Permissible?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> wrote: ‘That is allowed’.
