إِذَا عَقَلَ الصَّلَاةَ قُلْتُ مَتَى تَجِبُ الصَّلَاةُ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ إِذَا كَانَ ابْنَ سِتِّ سِنِينَ وَ الصِّيَامُ إِذَا أَطَاقَهُ .
Translation
Ali Bin Ibrahim, from his father, from Ibn Abu Umeyr, from Hammad Bin Usman, from Al Halby and Zurara, from Abu Abdullah<sup>asws</sup> having been asked about the <span class="iTxt">Salaat</span> upon the boys, when should <span class="iTxt">Salaat</span> be prayed upon him?’ He<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘When he has reasoning, the <span class="iTxt">Salaat</span> (would be prayed)’. I said, ‘When would the <span class="iTxt">Salaat</span> be Obligated upon him?’ So he<sup>asws</sup> said: ‘When he was a son of six years of age; and the Fasting is when he can endure it’.
